Edison Financial Credit Union Privacy Statement

The Edison Financial Credit Union is owned by its members and run by a board of directors you elect. You can be confident that your financial privacy is a top priority of this credit union.We are required by law to explain how we collect, use and safeguard your personal financial information. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

• Information we receive from you on applications or other forms.
   
• Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others: and:
   
• Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies.

We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.

We are committed to providing you with competitive products and services designed to meet your financial needs, which necessitates that we share information about you to complete your transactions and to provide you with certain financial opportunities. In order to do so, we have entered into agreements with other companies that provide either services to us or additional financial products for you to consider. The credit union's board of directors has approved each of these companies.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our members and former members to anyone, except as permitted by law.

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

Security Statement

Our Credit Union is constantly concerned about our member’s critical information and privacy. With this in mind, we have the following security services installed on our Internet server:

• Each server is behind a Firewall. This UNIX based hardware product blocks critical ports and IP addresses on servers from external attack and access.
   
• Each server runs proprietary software that constantly monitors the servers for unauthorized use and attempts to "hack" into information. Administrators are contact when forced attacks are committed, and countermeasures can be applied to stop these instances.
   
• All administrative activity requires user login and authentication. All administrative updates are logged into files that can be reviewed later.
   
• All servers come with a Global Verisign Certificate (RSA) for digitally encrypted communications between the Web server and your member. Information passed in applications cannot be decrypted by third parties attempting to "pick" information being passed across the Internet backbone.
   
• All servers run the latest version of Apache Web Server, considered the strongest and most secure Web server software on the market.

Disclosures

IMPORTANT NOTICE
When you apply for any online Account or Loan, you will be mailed an original application to the address you have provided. If you are not already an Edison Financial Credit Union Member, you must complete a Membership Application and open a Share (savings account) before your request can be processed.

The following information is required to open and activate your requested account:

1. Your Notarized Signature or your signature signed in the presence of an Edison Financial Credit Union Employee with proper identification
    
2. The return of the original application(s) to the Edison Financial Credit Union by mail or personal delivery. You must include an initial deposit of $5.00 to initiate your membership.

Edison Financial Credit Union may contact you to obtain additional information or to confirm the information you have provided for security purposes.

When you apply for membership or any service provided by Edison Financial Credit Union, you attest that your are eligible for membership at the credit union by at least one of the following conditions:

1. You are employed by one the Edison Financial Credit Unions’ Select Group - see select group listing on our Membership Page.
    
2. You have a relative that is currently maintaining a primary account with Edison Financial Credit Union.
